| ET RET |
Et Ret is a new project for an artist with years of experience recording under a different moniker. In the past he has created beautiful folk songs. New he constructs invigorating instrumentals using violin, cello, guitar, sparse percussion and analog electronics. On his debut Gasworks, he achieves a seductive tension; it feels like morning, like things are changing, and it's scary, and it's good.
| PRESS QUOTES | “One big ode to peace and joy, work and living. It's all there.” – Foxy Digitalis “The missing link between the one-man-band indie simplicity of the Durutti Coloumn's early albums and the slow-building post-rock grandeur of the likes of Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Et Ret's Gasworks is an endlessly fascinating album."- All Music Guide “Et Ret execute their drone with such modesty and gentle tweaking that Gasworks sneaks up on you and then vanishes quickly enough to retain its mystique, leaving you wanting more.” – Urban Pollution "it never peaks in a way that one might expect, but weaves a spell by sucking you in with hypnotic melodies and tugging you along gently from there" - Almost Cool |
